Maison has partnered with Michela Finaurini, a world-renowned expert in high-quality fabrics and the art of handicraft, to discover the unique mastery of Italian Artisans – our Maison Masters.
”Artisanship is not just tradition. A combination of expertise and talent make it unique and extraordinary. Ethics, sensitivity, respect, values, quality, refinement, dedication, patience, research, innovation, interpretation, tradition, history, the selection of raw materials, love, family – these are the ingredients that together lead to something UNIQUE. These are the qualities that describe Artisans.
Appreciating and recognising the value in this artistic heritage is our right – building back ever better values and knowledge for the younger generations is our duty. Artisanship is made up of what I call ‘contemplation and communion’, that which turns each idea or thought into a visible shape, into a work of art, through the strength of its identity. That which creates the bond with and the feel of a final product.
I believe in Artisanship born from INNOVATION, while still rooted in history and legacy – especially important for a society that is beginning to forget how precious time, care, patience, quality and thought sharing is. Artisanship is a form of UNIQUE discipline and the pursuit of perfection, that comes from the heart, hands and a treasure trove of human innovation. This is what still thrills in the world of ‘Made in Italy’, and it’s so important to ensure we recognise and preserve these unique skills that are so fundamental to the luxury sector and wider society.”
